Media: Loyalty to Money?

The power of the media is currently unparalleled in the existing world. Media has the power to alter the opinions, perceptions and even the believes of the common people.

There are countless benefits that we get through the media, even the article you are reading is thanks to the social media but on the other hand we must be careful and keep a check on the type of content we are exposed to.

We need to realize that unfortunately most of the media houses are not fulfilling their mission and vision statements but rather generating heavy profits by portraying a beautiful picture of their ugly masters. Journalism is a very noble profession but modern day journalists and news anchors have sold their souls to the materialistic world. Media has no sincerity for the common people, it has become a business and a mafia. Media houses are used as a tool to defend the corrupt politicians, hide the ugly faces and sell a specific narrative. Each media house describes the same picture but explains it in a total opposite way. 

This is a big question to the reliability and authenticity of the media. Media houses are getting richer by the hour and yet they claim to stand with the weak and poor by showing them a twisted reality.

FUN FACT: In our society if you are a bad person and you want to 'redeem yourself in the eyes of the people', you only need to pay a heavy amount to the media and it will turn you into a saint from a sinner just like a miracle.

The media houses have to be more responsible about the way news and information is shared because the efforts of the media have long term effect on the society. Media should focus on the problems of the common people rather than licking the toes of the elite, in this way media will have the support of the common people and when common people unite they are far more powerful than any super elite of the world, and it's a fact that together media and people have the power to change the system for good.
