Dowry system to the Drain!

Worldwide there has been a popular shameful culture of the dowry system which has been one of the reason for collective social anxiety and a very effective source of collective frustration. Dowry culture has been active since the earliest human civilization and yet it hasn't contributed any good for the human society instead it has caused many painful events beyond imagination for the common people, and yet no one speaks about it.

SAD FACT: NOBODY WANTS TO SUPPORT THE DOWRY CULTURE BUT WE ALL DO BECAUSE OF THE PEER PRESSURE AND WE NEED TO CHANGE THAT!

Especially in South Asia, Dowry is seen as if it is a divine obligation and a necessary part of the marriage. Well its time to correct our concepts, Dowry system is an extremely materialistic concept in which the Bride's family is forced to fulfill all the materialistic demands of the Groom's family. Marriage is a very pure and beautiful relation, Why the strength of such a beautiful relationship is based upon the materialistic standard of the dowry? and What kind of low mentality people have the guts to demand for dowry? It is a sad truth that before the marriage the Bride's family receives a list of items by the Groom's family to fulfill the demands of the dowry otherwise the marriage won't occur. Marriage has been treated as a business and the more the dowry the more the chances that the bride will be treated with respect.

Many educated girls won't get married because they don't have enough resources to gather their dowry, and this fact has been a source of tension and frustration for their parents. Since parents find out that a 'Daughter' is born they do nothing else but to start collecting for her dowry.

Dowry deaths are found in India, Pakistan, and Bangladesh. India reports the highest total number of dowry deaths with 8,391 such deaths reported in 2010, 1.4 deaths per 100,000 women. Adjusted for population, Pakistan, with 2,000 reported such deaths per year, has the highest rate of dowry death at 2.45 per 100,000 women.

Dowry death is considered one of the many categories of violence against women, alongside rape, bride burning, eve teasing, and acid throwing.

Dowry System is a disease and needs to be cured, There is no way that materialism can contribute to a happy marriage. Even if the Groom wants dowry and the Bride fulfills all the need there is a chance that they won't be happy together because the thing that will be lacking would be a Sophisticated mind... And People with Sophisticated thoughts do not ask for dowry!
